Deborah Stapleton
President

Deborah Stapleton founded Stapleton Communications Inc. in 1992, to help technology companies communicate their value propositions to the financial community and the media. After working for several years in journalism, covering city, state and federal government, Deborah was a public relations and advertising professional at the largest advertising and public relations agency in the southwest, representing a variety of clients including American Airlines and Texas Instruments.

In 1988, she moved to California to work for Maxtor Corporation, as Vice President of Corporate Communications and an officer of the company. She and her team handled all investor relations, advertising, collateral development, public relations and marketing communications. After Maxtor, Deborah became Vice President of Communications at Zilog, working on its IPO and building its investor and public relations infrastructure.

She and her firm have extensive experience in working with various technology companies around the world. Stapleton Communications has represented companies as diverse as Amazon.com, LSI Logic and Pixar Animation Studios. Deborah also has experience in lobbying the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Senate on a variety of subjects relevant to the Silicon Valley. She is currently the public relations adviser to BASIC, the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium, which is dedicated to advancing the San Francisco Bay Area’s leadership in technology.

Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with a minor in Physics, from the University of Texas.
