Deborah Stapleton
President
Deborah Stapleton founded Stapleton
Communications Inc. in 1992, to help technology companies
communicate their value propositions to the financial
community and the media. After working for several years
in journalism, covering city, state and federal government,
Deborah was a public relations and advertising professional
at the largest advertising and public relations agency
in the southwest, representing a variety of clients including
American Airlines and Texas Instruments.
In 1988, she moved to California to work for Maxtor
Corporation, as Vice President of Corporate Communications
and an officer of the company. She and her team handled
all investor relations, advertising, collateral development,
public relations and marketing communications. After
Maxtor, Deborah became Vice President of Communications
at Zilog, working on its IPO and building its investor
and public relations infrastructure.
She and her firm have extensive experience in working
with various technology companies around the world.
Stapleton Communications has represented companies as
diverse as Amazon.com, LSI Logic and Pixar Animation
Studios. Deborah also has experience in lobbying the
U.S. Congress and the U.S. Senate on a variety of subjects
relevant to the Silicon Valley. She is currently the
public relations adviser to BASIC, the Bay Area Science
and Innovation Consortium, which is dedicated to advancing
the San Francisco Bay Area’s leadership in technology.
Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism,
with a minor in Physics, from the University of Texas.
